Summer has finally arrived. The sun is up and the heat is definitely on. This season signifies a wonderful and dreamy holiday that you can spend with family, friends or with your partner. It may be just a quick day trip to the beach just to have a picnic and enjoy the summer breeze or a week getaway to unwind, reflect and heal.

A year ago (this was before pandemic), as I was planning for a week holiday in Boracay with my partner, I came across a beach resort that I haven’t heard of before. If you’re the kind of person who values and loves a quiet space to relax but at the same time still enjoys the vibrant day and night life that Boracay has to offer, then Mandala Spa & Villas Boracay is just right for you.

MANDALA SPA & VILLAS is a nature-inspired and secluded place that is located at a clifftop overlooking the white sand beach of Boracay. This award winning spa, offers a unique and lovely experience to travellers.

As we arrived at the resort, we are greeted with lush greeneries and well-thought landscape that values nature. Honestly, walking from the entrance to the reception is like entering a whole different world in contrary to the known crowded and busy Island. Lovely staffs greeted us and has given us welcoming drinks while they check our booking and oriented us with their rules and regulations. They will ask for 5000php deposit just in case you break something and will be given back at the end of your stay.

Resort Villas

Mandala has 12 villas dotted around 2.5 hectare of luxurious garden setting. They only have two types of villas, The Garden and the Digital Detox. They have the same architectural design, the only difference is Digital Detox detached you from the digital world, taking away the wifi and television which allows you to self-reflect and gives you opportunity to do things you have been neglecting.

Upon entering the villa, nature music was playing on the radio providing a relaxing environment while we explore our villa.

The room was huge and amazing. Never have I had such calming serenity embraced me the moment I walked in our villa. It was aesthetically furnished with gumamela flowers placed on the floors and tables. The King-sized bed was so soft and comfortable, I would have a snoozed right there and then but my partner wanted to go out, haha.

Walking through the bathroom gives me kilig, having thoughts on how I can pamper myself. It’s surrounded with glass doors allowing light into the room without compromising your privacy. But if you’re really conscious and paranoid like me, you can use the curtains hanged from the door. Everything was clean and eye-pleasing. Their shampoo, conditioner and hand washing liquid are all organic.

  8. Digital detox sounds like something I definitely need, with all the social media influx and our growing dependence on it has overloaded our life with digital technology. But I have to admit it seems almost impossible to do that.
